Terms & Conditions
Effective date: 19 August 2025
Thanks for using Sylure. By accessing our website, beta, or mobile experience (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service. Our Privacy Notice explains how we handle your data.
Quick summary
- Sylure supports wellbeing and reflection. It isn’t medical advice or a crisis service.
- You must be 16+ (or the local age of digital consent). Keep your account secure.
- You own your content. We process it only to run and improve the Service.
- Beta features may change, break, or disappear.
- Some features may become paid later. We’ll show pricing and cancellation clearly.
- Your legal rights as a consumer still apply.
This summary is for clarity only. The sections below are the binding terms.
1) Who we are & what Sylure is
Sylure is a gentle self-care tool that offers mood check-ins, small plans and trends to help you reflect. It is not a medical device, therapy, diagnosis or emergency service. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services or a crisis helpline immediately.
2) Eligibility & accounts
- You must be at least 16 years old (or older if local law requires). If you are under 18, a parent/guardian should review these Terms with you.
- Provide accurate details and keep your account secure. Tell us promptly about any unauthorised use.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or the law.
3) Privacy & data
We process your information to operate the Service, improve features and keep things secure. Some information you enter may relate to your health and is treated with extra care. You can export or delete your data as set out in our Privacy Notice. Please avoid entering information you are uncomfortable sharing.
4) Beta programme
The beta is pre-release. Features may change, be limited, or be temporarily unavailable. We appreciate feedback and may use it to improve the Service without obligation to you.
5) Acceptable use
- Use the Service for personal, lawful purposes only.
- Don’t upload illegal, harmful, infringing or abusive content.
- Don’t try to disrupt, scrape, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access.
- Respect others and the Service. We may remove content or restrict accounts that break these rules.
6) Your content
You own the notes and entries you add. You grant us a limited, revocable licence to host, process, back up and display your content as needed to provide the Service and to create anonymised statistics. We won’t use your private entries for advertising.
7) Third-party services & AI
The Service may integrate third-party services (for example: authentication, analytics or AI model providers). Their terms may apply in addition to ours. We’re not responsible for third-party sites or content.
8) Subscriptions, trials & billing
Some features may be paid. If you start a subscription, it will auto-renew until you cancel. We’ll show the price, billing period and how to cancel at checkout or in your account. Purchases made via an app store must be managed there. Unless required by law, fees are non-refundable once a billing period begins.
EEA/UK 14-day withdrawal: if you buy directly from us (not via an app store), you may cancel within 14 days for a refund, unless you have started using the paid features during that period. How to contact us is in section 16.
We may change prices or plans. We’ll give reasonable notice and you can cancel before changes take effect.
9) Intellectual property
The Service (including design, software and trademarks) is owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use it as provided, subject to these Terms.
10) Health & safety disclaimers
- Sylure provides information and reflection tools only. It isn’t a substitute for professional care.
- Never delay seeking professional advice because of content in the Service.
- Don’t use the app while driving or doing tasks that need full attention.
11) Warranties & liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We don’t promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid to us in the previous 12 months (or £0 if none). Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud or for death/personal injury caused by negligence.
12) Suspension, termination & changes
You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end access where these Terms are breached, where the Service is misused, or where we must do so by law. We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. We’ll post updates here and refresh the effective date; continued use means you accept the changes.
13) iOS terms
If you use our iOS app, Apple is not responsible for support, warranties or claims. These Terms are between you and Sylure. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms.
14) Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and disputes can be brought in the local courts. If you live in the EEA/UK, you may also have access to Online Dispute Resolution where required by law.
